Texas Women in Higher Education Celebrates Dr. Debbie Thorne’s Appointment as Executive Vice President and Provost at Florida Gulf Coast University
HOUSTON, Texas — Texas Women in Higher Education (TWHE) proudly congratulates Dr. Debbie Thorne, a long-standing supporter and former President of TWHE, on her appointment as Executive Vice President and Provost at Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU).
Dr. Thorne has been an influential leader within the Texas higher education landscape, most recently serving in senior academic leadership at Texas State University, where she built a legacy of academic excellence and collaborative innovation. Her transition marks a new chapter in a distinguished career grounded in academic integrity and strategic leadership.
