TWHE New Board Members Press Release

HOUSTON, TX – Texas Women in Higher Education (TWHE) is pleased to announce the appointment of two new members to its Board of Directors: Amanda Zerangue and Vasiliki Arca.

These accomplished leaders bring a wealth of experience, expertise, and dedication to advancing women in higher education leadership across Texas. Their collective backgrounds span academic affairs, student success, workforce development, community engagement, and institutional leadership, further strengthening TWHE’s commitment to supporting and empowering women professionals in higher education.

Amanda Zerangue serves as an Associate University Librarian for Public Services at the University of North Texas, where she contributes to student learning, library engagement, and academic support. Her professional experience also includes legal practice, and she holds an MLS and JD. At UNT, she is also part of the Learning Ecosystem Institute’s steering committee and has participated in research examining library engagement and student success. Most recently, Zerangue was part of the UNT Libraries team awarded the 2026 Will Eisner Graphic Novel Growth Grant for a project connecting graphic novels with independent living, workforce readiness, and library engagement for young adults with disabilities.

Vasiliki Arca is an Associate Dean of K-12 Partnerships at Dallas College, where she leads initiatives focused on strengthening relationships between the college and K–12 partners. She currently serves at the El Centro campus and brings extensive experience in community college leadership, dual enrollment, educational partnerships, and student success. She recently completed an Ed.D. in Community College Leadership, further strengthening her expertise in student access, educational pathways, and community college administration. Vasiliki has also participated in the ACE Emerging Women’s Leadership Network and has been recognized Influential Women 2026 for her professional and leadership accomplishments.

As members of the Board of Directors, the new directors will play a significant role in advancing TWHE’s mission through strategic leadership, member engagement, professional development, and advocacy initiatives designed to support and elevate women leaders throughout Texas higher education.
