Statement of Purpose

Texas Women in Higher Education (TWHE) is the OWHE network organization for Texas dedicated to developing, advancing and supporting women employed at colleges and universities across the state.  TWHE is committed to providing its members with the skills needed to reach leadership positions and enhancing the leadership skills of those already there.

Each state network is led by a state coordinator who works with institutional representatives and at least one presidential sponsor to develop programs that identify, develop, encourage, advance, link, and support women in higher education careers within that state.

Dr. Denise Trauth, President of Texas State University-San Marcos, is the presidential sponsor for the Texas network. Dr. Margaret Rice, Chief of Staff for the President of University of Houston – Victoria, and Dr. Minita Ramirez, Vice President for Student Success, Texas A&M International University, are state co-coordinators.

For more information, call Dr. Margaret Rice at (361) 570-4145 or Dr. Minita Ramirez at (956) 326-2278.
