About American Council on Education (ACE) and Office of Women in Higher Education
Founded in 1918, The American Council on Education (ACE) “seeks to provide leadership and a unifying voice on key higher education issues and to influence public policy through advocacy, research, and program initiatives.” The Office of Women in Higher Education functions within ACE and “provides the national direction for women’s leadership development and career advancement.” The mission of the American Council on Education’s Office of Women in Higher Education (OWHE) is to identify, develop, advance, and support women in higher education at the national, state, and local levels.
